Stove Method: 1. Wash the pan with warm soapy water, dry it thoroughly, and then heat it on the stovetop to ensure it's completely dry. 2. Once the pan is dry, apply your choice of oil using a paper towel, ensuring the interior and exterior of the pan are evenly coated. 3. Heat the pan on the stove until it begins to smoke, making sure to also heat the sides of the pan over the flame. 4. Turn off the heat once the pan is smoking, and allow it to cool quickly.

Oven Method: 1. Remove the wooden handle by unscrewing the large eyelet at the base of the handle and pulling it towards you to remove it. 2. Place a foil-lined baking sheet on the bottom rack of your preheated oven (475F to 500F). 3. While the oven is preheating, wash the pan with warm soapy water, dry it thoroughly, and then place it on the stovetop to ensure it's completely dry. 4. Once the pan is dry, apply your choice of oil using a paper towel, ensuring the interior and exterior of the pan are evenly coated. 5. Place the pan upside down on the rack above the foil-lined baking sheet and leave it in the oven for an hour. After an hour, turn off the oven and allow the pan to cool inside.
